What happens when you decide that the F80 M3 drivetrain should be crammed into the F31 wagon body?
Well, something like this. With a complete F80 M3 swap, a F81 is created. With no expense spared on the build, you ask why BMW never made an F81 Touring officially.
Beyond the regular F80 parts, the upgrades further include Brembo GTs 6Pot 405mm & 4Pot 380mm which made finding a set of wheels extremely difficult.
That's where the BBS Motorsport designed FI-R comes in, clearing the front & rear brake set up with ease thanks to the FI135 20x9.5 +22 & FI136 20x10.5 +35 spec, not only does it deliver a visual upgrade, the FI-R also sheds 3.2kg per wheel in the front & 3.6kg per wheel in the rear.
With an OEM plus style, the FI-R delivers extreme quality, lightweight performance & clearance for some of the biggest brakes you can run. As each FI-R & FI-R Evo model are designed for an exact vehicle, it allows for much more specialisation over more generic fitments, ensuring the wheels are completely rated to the vehicle they're being made for, which results in a guaranteed fitment every time.
