With the new FL5 now being delivered to customers we couldn't pass up the chance to test out some fitments. With others in the US reporting certain sizes may be too aggressive on the new model, compared to the previous gen FK8, we felt we needed to check ourselves.
What we found was the TE37SL 18x9.5 +45 5/120 is a perfect, bolt on fitment, with enough clearance for the brakes, and suspension, you could run a 265/35R18 or even 265/40R18 tyre with ease.
The more aggressive fitments that the FK8 could sustain will come with a need to increase negative camber on the FL5 in order to run similar tyre set ups to the 18x9.5 +45 wheels.
In conclusion, a 9.5" wide wheel with an offset range of 43~45 would be the sweet spot for this new Type R generation.
