Diese Norm gilt für Leichtmetallfelgen für Personenkraftwagen (ausgenommen Fahrzeuge mit einer Kapazität von 11 oder mehr, Motorräder und Motorräder mit Beiwagen – * der Geltungsbereich für diese Ausnahmefälle ist gesondert festzulegen). Gemäß dieser Norm werden die Tests in Eigenverantwortung des Herstellers durchgeführt und Produkte, die die Tests bestanden haben, erhalten ein JWL-Siegel.

Diese Norm gilt für Leichtmetallfelgen für LKW und Busse. Gemäß dieser Norm werden die Tests in Eigenverantwortung der Hersteller durchgeführt. Produkte, die diese Tests bestehen, erhalten das JWL-T-Siegel (der Minister für Land, Infrastruktur, Verkehr und Tourismus beurteilt, ob die betreffenden Produkte die Bestimmungen in Artikel 9 des „Sicherheitsstandards für Straßenfahrzeuge“ erfüllen, indem er ihnen das Vorhandensein dieses Zertifizierungssiegels bestätigt).

VIA-Qualitätsprüfzeichen (VEHICLE INSPECTION ASSOCIATION)
Die Prüfung wird von der Japan Vehicle Inspection Association an das Japan Light Alloy Automotive Wheel Testing Council (JWTC Incorporation Foundation) vergeben, um sicherzustellen, dass die Produkte den nationalen JWL- bzw. JWL-T-Standards entsprechen. Da der nationale technische Standard eine Selbstzertifizierung erfordert, werden Produkte im Aftermarket von einer unabhängigen öffentlichen Prüfstelle geprüft. Produkte, deren Konformität mit dem Standard bestätigt wurde, werden beim JWTC registriert und mit dem VIA-Zertifizierungssiegel gekennzeichnet.

JWL Standard Conformity Mark (JAPAN LIGHT ALLOY WHEEL)
This standard is applicable to light alloy disc wheels for passenger vehicles (excluding vehicles with riding capacity of 11 people or greater, motorcycles, and motorcycles with a sidecar - * a scope for those exceptional cases are to be separately set). As per this standard, tests are conducted on manufacturers own responsibilities and products that have passed the tests are given a JWL seal mark.
JWL-T Standard Conformity Mark (JAPAN LIGHT ALLOY WHEEL TRUCK & BUS)
This standard is applicable to light alloy disc wheels for trucks and busses. As per this standard, tests are conducted on manufacturers own responsibilities and products that have passed the tests are given a JWL-T seal mark (the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism judges whether the subjected products meet the provisions in Article 9 of “Safety Standard for Road Transportation Vehicles” by confirming that they have these certification seal mark).

VIA Quality Inspection Approval Mark (VEHICLE INSPECTION ASSOCIATION)
Testing is consigned from Japan Vehicle Inspection Association to Japan Light Alloy Automotive Wheel Testing Council (JWTC Incorporation Foundation) to see the subjected products meet the national standard of JWL or JWL-T. As the national engineering standard requests self-certification, products in the aftermarket are tested at a third party testing public institution. Products whose status of conformity to the standard is confirmed are registered at JWTC and have the VIA certification seal mark.
